Solar Energy ArticlesBreakthrough In Solar Panel Production Using Fibonacci Series In this article, we are going to see a discovery by Aidan Dywer, a 13 year old kid, which has led to a great relief in the research and development of the solar panels. Let us first have a look of what actually constitutes of Fibonacci number. Fibonacci series follows a particular sequence which is given below: 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144,……. If we have a look at the proper definition of the Fibonacci series, it is the series that starts with 0 and 1 as its first two numbers and rest of the numbers from there on are obtained by addition of the previous two numbers in the series. It has been very lately realized that the Fibonacci series appear in all forms of biological settings. This is applicable to branching in the trees, the pattern in which the petals of a flower are arranged, leaves’ arrangement on a stem, etc. This is also applicable to the other sources that biology like the curving of the waves, spiral of the sea shells etc. In short, it is very well to be understood that the Fibonacci series and nature are very closely related. Fibonacci series magically is very much fond of nature and vice versa. This article highlights role of Fibonacci series in harnessing of energy from the sun as pointed out by Aidan Dwyer. Aidan Dwyer is just a 13-year old kid, but nevertheless a very gifted one. Not only is he different from the other kids of his age who probably would spend their time on Facebook and playing video games, the kids also seeks interest in research of development. One thing is very much evident from what his discovery has led to. That is, this 7th grade kid is very much observant of nature and also shares a keen interest in technology and development that govern the research oriented areas of the world. It required him trekking into the deep and dark woods so that the mystery of science could be revealed. This kid was very much interested in understanding or rather observing how smaller trees branched into a bigger full grown tree in a very specific way. With the help of his keen yet not fully known potential and observations, Aidan Dywer led to the creation of solar cell tree. The design that has been implemented by this kid has been proven to be an efficient one. The results are very much straight forward. The solar panels thus designed produce output that are 20-50% better than the conventional designs and manufacturing of the solar panels that are manufactured commercially. The energy generation, as seen through his observations improve in a drastic manner when the solar cells inside the solar panels are distributed keeping the pattern of the nature i.e. Fibonacci series. This discovery at a very young age has led the kid ear a provisional US patent. This has been regarded as a very rare find in the field of technology. When something technical is to be developed like the solar panels, nature is taken for granted and researchers tend to pay more attention to the technical aspects behind the design. This discovery has led to the conclusion that this is one of the finest examples of how we can mimic the pattern of nature like biological features of certain trees, their stems, branches, flowers etc. to improve the design of a component in a solar cell and ultimately achieve a lot of perfection in the solar panel output (end product).
