Solar Energy ArticlesSolar Panel Installations at Sanctuary In this article, we are going to have a look at a case study for the solar panels' installation at a sanctuary named The Corkscrew Cramp sanctuary. The Corkscrew Cramp Sanctuary is located in the Naples. It is spread around a massive piece of land of a size of about 13000 acres. The authorities at this sanctuary are implementing ways to go greener by the day by achieving the access to greener energy sources. This is done in order to awaken the world for their active participation in the Gulf oil spill. The Sanctuary has teamed with a solar panel manufacturing and installation company called as REC Solar. REC solar is a sustainable energy company with the eco-green concept and is located in the state of California in USA. REC solar has made provision of the solar electric supply system which is expected to cost the Corkscrew Cramp sanctuary a whopping sum of US $25000. This payment includes the installation efforts estimated for the project. The solar panels are being put to practical use at the Blair Audubon Center inside the sanctuary. There has been an introduction of the solar panel systems that is capable of generating 10 kW of energy. This system was put to use and the installation process had taken place since the project was just about to reach the completion stages as reported by the sources at El Strobel and Sunshine Solar Services Company which are located at the nearby Fort Lauderdale locations. The system altogether includes around 25 solar panels. The solar panels, according to the estimates of the authorities of the sanctuary will generate a power output of 225 watts towards the contribution to the center. The main advantage as seen by the planning committee of this sanctuary is that the carbon footprint of this sanctuary will decrease to a great extent. This will also enable the sanctuary to make use of their funds in order to lend support to the plans that they have designed for the future. There shall be a lot of savings generated from the non-payment of the utility bills when the project goes to the production stages. This will enhance the conservation programming of this sanctuary. The leaders at the Audubon Center at this sanctuary want to continue extending their support for harnessing the energy of the sun and thus are an active contributor to the green energy. Even REC, being an active member of the solar panel industry will be an active contributor to this project by its donations. Thus there will be a combined effort of the REC and the sanctuary authorities in order to make way for the support extension to the oil spill recovery victims like the sanctuary birds etc. However, at this moment it is only planned that the Audubon Center will be installing solar panels and be an active contributor and nothing more than that. This means there will be no contributions from the Audubon for the project implementation. They have the will however, in terms of contributing something that will render support to them in the future such as being self-supportive and a renewable energy option like the solar panels is an excellent way that they could think of for implementing such a cause. The renewable energy from the sun when harnessed by the sanctuary has many advantages. For first, it will reduce the emission of the greenhouse gases to a large extent. Second, the sanctuary will be able to depend to a lesser or to no extent on the fossil fuels. This will reduce drilling activities in the Gulf where there is an active involvement of this sanctuary and ultimately, the end result will see no oil spills. Related articles
